Keeping quiet is simply not part of me. Getting bound to oppression, and still have to shut up isn't part of me. Saying yes, in amidst of all kinds of insane injustices is not part of me.
After the fact that all is done till date to keep a blanket covered on the true homophobic practices right from authority offices down the immediate neighbour in the community, I can't afford to still give a closed mouth to it. After electing a Block leader, who recently threatened to burn you alive is one thing that gives a clear message to us that we are not considered part of the community to even have a right to opinion, otherwise we wouldn't have let such a thing to happen.
When we still have trans phobic acts of undressing transgenders in public to prove their gender, having lesbians raped to prove their gender, having a queer man burnt down to death as a punishment for who he is, calls for more "noise" and whoever is irritated by it, your description is as simple as being a pure homophobe.
LGBTI in Kakuma Refugee camp are under serious homophobic life taking circumstances, shelter less, living in fear, oppressed, discriminated, etc.
I use more of this space to implore @UNHCR_Kenya act and ensure proper documentation of all LGBTI so as we get eligible for international protection ASAP please.
